We've received submissions from all over the world and the films selected give a living portrait of the planet and its inhabitants. Join us for two different "shorts" programs that range from the sublime and serene Scandinavian Fjord to the antic and rhythmic Mottainai. Animation and documentary. And you LA River addicts... check out Chasing Water, an offbeat start to finish exploration of our lifeblood Colorado River.

Film Screening and Electric Car Symposium
Come and get an insider's view of the past, present and future of Electric Vehicles with a German emphasis as panelists from Bavaria and Los Angeles discuss the cars and the infrastructure needed to transform personal mobility to an all electric paradigm. Vehicles on display include a CODA, a BMW Active E and VersiCharge charging station.

Arctic Tale
A National Geographic Society feature film narrated by Queen Latifa screens as a free family program at 6:00pm on Friday. Arctic Tale documents the life cycle of polar bear and walrus families facing the harsh realities of the arctic with its ever-changing environment. Filmed and produced by the Venice local residents, Adam Ravetch and Sarah Robertson.

SEA Pulse Films Presents
The Beauty and the Threats to the World's Ocean
Three films: The Majestic Plastic Bag (Heal the Bay), One Beach (Surfrider Foundation & BarefootWine), and The World Ocean Trashed (Bill Macdonald Productions) consider mind boggling trash issues. Captain Charles Moore, the dean of marine debris researchers will present his new book: Plastic Ocean, and discuss Japan's tsunami impact of floating trash heading our way.
